With so much going on in the Lit, you’ll want to stop for coffee or afternoon tea. Part of this vision is to utilise and upgrade the current kitchen facilities to incorporate a new cafe on the ground floor. This will not only provide an inviting welcome to the building, but through partnerships with local groups and social enterprises, we can offer a community cafe that hosts workshops for young people, adults who want to learn new skills, adults with learning disabilities, and older resident who want to socialise.
The Literary Institute has two ‘bunker’ style rooms which will be used as space for the cafe customers, but also as a place to relax and socialise.
